Throughout her life, she volunteered in hospitals and clinics, as well as worked in home health care for many years. Candace worked as a college professor teaching Anatomy & Physiology for many years before officially becoming a Board Certified Patient Advocate in September 2018. Many friends and family members influenced her decision to become an Advocate, including a friend with a cancer diagnosis, a family member who nearly died from prescription interactions, and another family member denied by insurance for expensive mental health treatment- all of whom she was able to help get the care they deserved. Candace decided she loved advocating for others, and knew she had to become a certified Patient Advocate and start a company. AdvocateATX was born in September of 2018. Candace has been advocating for herself and others for years, and now she can share that passion with you.
